  • The Los Angeles County Waterworks Districts (Districts) are public water systems formed pursuant to Division 16, County Waterworks Districts of the California Water Code. The Districts currently consist of five County Waterworks Districts providing retail water service to Kagel Canyon, Malibu, Val Verde, Acton, and the Antelope Valley.
Newhall County Water District

  • Newhall County Water District, created in 1953, is one of four water purveyors in the Santa Clarita Valley and currently supplies a population of approximately 30,000 with over 9,000 service connections. Governed by a five-member Board of Directors, elected at large by residents of the district, its 34-square mile service area includes four distinct geographical areas in the valley — Pinetree, Newhall, Tesoro and Castaic.


Santa Clarita Water Division

  • Santa Clarita Water is a division of the Castaic Lake Water Agency (SCWD). SCWD is a water retailer that serves approximately 124,000 people with over 28,000 connections in portions of the City of Santa Clarita in the communities of Canyon Country, Newhall and Saugus and unincorporated portions of Los Angeles County. SCWD supplies water from local groundwater sources and CLWA imported water.
Valencia Water Company

  • Valencia Water Company (Valencia) serves approximately 113,000 people in the Santa Clarita Valley, including Valencia, Stevenson Ranch, and portions of Newhall, Saugus and Castaic. Valencia supplies its customers with high-quality water supplied from local wells and from imported supplies. Valencia is an investor-owned water utility regulated by the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC), the state agency charged with regulatory oversight of investor owned utilities in California.

To help Santa Clarita residents use water more efficiently, Castaic Lake Water Agency, Newhall County Water District, Santa Clarita Water Division, Los Angeles County Waterworks District 36, Valencia Water Company, and the City of Santa Clarita created the Santa Clarita Valley Family of Water Suppliers.
