Water Challenge! Rules and Regulations

  1. Each team must consist of 1-4 students.
  2. All team members must be from the same school within the Santa Clarita Valley (Castaic Lake Water Service Area).
  3. All project topics must pertain to water issues within the Santa Clarita Valley.
  4. Assigned project number must be included on all correspondence. Each team will have an Education Department contact.
  5. CLWA Education Department must be notified via e-mail if there is any change in your team status (e.g. a member drops out, a member added, etc.)
  6. Completed entries, including required materials, must be received, or postmarked no later than 5:00 PM on October 12, 2010 at the office of:
    Castaic Lake Water Agency

    Attn: Education Dept.
  7. Only original project ideas will be accepted and become property of CLWA.
  8. Documentation of research work is required by each team and should be included in the final project. This will count as part of the judging criteria.
  9. One Action Plan per team must be completed in order to receive 40 percent towards the first stage scoring of your project. The Action Plan has to accompany the project by its due date.
  10. After all entries have been reviewed, the top teams will be invited to present their projects to the to the Education Department and will be video taped for further judging.
  11. Entries will be judged by the Education Department selected CLWA Board Members, elected officials and! or their designees.
  12. Winners will be notified by telephone and US mail prior to the awards reception.
  13. Winners will be requested to give a brief 5-10 minute presentation of their project at the awards reception.
